The PC-SIG Library on CD-ROM, winner of the Optical Publishing
Association's Best Consumer Product Award, has added a hypermedia
interface that makes it easy to find and download any type of program
you could want. The WordCruncher text retrieval program has also been
implemented to assist you insearching this vast collection.
This CD-ROM contains over 3700 fully functional shareware programs, each
with a detailed review. The 12th Edition has added over 300 new programs
and over 500 updates since the release of the 11th Edition. The
collection is always kept current and now contains over 70 megabytes of
Windows 3.0 and 3.1 applications, fonts, icons, games and wallpaper

CMP
CMP is a file compression program. It is intended to work with
the "On This Day" events database program, but can be used as a
general purpose compression program, nonetheless. To get the
original file back from a compressed program, use the UCMP
program.
We are NOT attempting in any way to compete with existing general
purpose compression programs. ARC, LHARC, PKZIP, etc. are all
fine products and deserve your support if you are looking for a
fast and optimal compression program. CMP was developed to
provide the ability to keep databases for "On This Day" in a
compressed form so as to minimize disk usage, yet not have to be
uncompressed before OTD was run.
For our databases, we have found that we can achieve roughly a
33% reduction in size.
The syntax of the command line is:
CMP <original file> <compressed file>
<original file> and <compressed file> may not be the same name.
Please note that CMP is NOT to be shared with other users. It is
not distributed under the Shareware concept and remains under the
strictest copyright limitations. It is provided as one benefit
of having registered OTD.

On This Day for Windows is a program and collection of databases
to answer the question "What Happened On This Day In History?"
The databases contain thousands of birthdays, events, religious
holidays, etc. The program supports dates in the Gregorian,
Hebrew, Islamic, and Julian calendars and calculates a limited
number of astronomical events. Requires Microsoft Windows 3.0 or
better.

Did you know that Children's Day is the second Sunday in June? Or
that November is Aviation History Month? How about that Willard
Scott (NBC's "birthday boy") was born on March 7th 1934?
Confuscious was born August 27th, 551 BC? On This Day can tell
you all this and much more.
On This Day for Windows is an event database printing program.
Click on the date in which you are interested (keyboard commands
also work) and the program will do the rest. It will search a
group of databases (supplied) and print the data for the date
you specified. On This Day for Windows will search an extra,
personal, file so all your personal events need not be mixed with
the data in the provided files.
Since the databases are ordinary text files and the format is
completely documented, you can make changes and additions using
your favorite text editor or word processor.
On This Day for Windows supports dates in the Gregorian (the one
many of us use daily), Hebrew, Islamic, and Julian calendars. On
This Day for Windows can also determine the day of the week on
which a requested date falls. Thus, you can specify dates like
Memorial Day (the last Monday in May).
On This Day for Windows calculates the date of Easter in the
requested year, allowing specification of all Christian holidays.
On This Day for Windows also calculates the phases of the moon
(flagging eclipses), solstices, and equinoxes.
Possibly best of all, On This Day for Windows comes with a
collection of databases ready to use with the program.
Registered users are provided with databases containing roughly
15,000 events, holidays, and birthdays! Registered users are
also supplied with a few other utilities that we've found useful
in maintaining changes in the larger databases and a database of
quotations that is ONLY available to registered users.

Diamond Data is a complete baseball and softball statistics
tracking package. 34 different statistics are maintained for
batters, fielders (each position seperately), and pitchers. 9
different statistics for games are maintained. Databases can be
merged to provide season, league, or lifetime totals. No limit to
the number of players or games that can be entered.

accordance with the following restrictions. Disk Vendors and
Distributors should refer to the VENDOR.DOC text file for complete

On This Day for Windows is defined as containing all the material
listed in the PACKING.LST text file. If any files listed in the
PACKING.LST text file, or the PACKING.LST file itself, are missing,
then the package is not complete and distribution is forbidden.
Please contact us to obtain a complete package suitable for
distribution.
o On This Day for Windows - including all related program files
and documentation files - CANNOT be modified in any way (other
than that mentioned in the following paragraph) and must be
distributed as a complete package, without exception. The
PACKING.LST text file contains a list of all files that are
part of On This Day for Windows.
o Many BBSs customarily add a small text file (advertisement) to
each archived file. This text file describes the BBS and
tells people that the file was downloaded from that particular
BBS. Other BBSs add a small one-line message with their BBS

UCMP.DOC
CMP Version 1.0
UCMP
UCMP is a file decompression program. It is intended to work
with the compression program (CMP) distributed with the "On This
Day" events database program.
We are NOT attempting in any way to compete with existing general
purpose compression programs. ARC, LHARC, PKZIP, etc. are all
fine products and deserve your support if you are looking for a
fast and optimal compression program. CMP was developed to
provide the ability to keep databases for "On This Day" in a
compressed form so as to minimize disk usage, yet not have to be
uncompressed before OTD was run.
For our databases, we have found that we can achieve roughly a
33% reduction in size.
The syntax of the command line is:
UCMP <compressed file> <uncompressed file>
<uncompressed file> and <compressed file> may not be the same
name.
Please note that neither CMP nor UCMP is to be shared with other
users. It is not distributed under the Shareware concept and
remains under the strictest copyright limitations. It is
provided as one benefit of having registered OTD.

Individuals who wish to distribute On This Day for Windows to friends
or associates may do so in accordance with the restrictions outlined
in LICENSE.DOC.
Computer Clubs and User Groups wishing to add On This Day for Windows
to their disk library may do so in accordance with the Distribution
Restrictions listed below.

mailing list for future upgrades to any of our products, please contact

inclusive package. Nor can it be included in any commercial software
packaging offer, without a written agreement from The Software
Construction Co.
ASP Approved Vendors who wish to distribute On This Day for
Windows as part of a collection (such as PsL's MegaDisk set, or a
CD-ROM package) may do so provided that all the other restrictions
are met.
Vendors (non-ASP Vendor Members) who wish to distribute On This
Day for Windows as part of a collection (such as PsL's MegaDisk
set, or a CD-ROM package) must obtain permission from The Software
Construction Co. prior to beginning such a distribution.
If you wish to add any of our programs to a CD-ROM or other
collection, please check the release date of the version you have.
If the version is over twelve (12) months old then please contact
us to ensure that you have the most current version. This version
was released in May, 1993.
Disk-of-the-Month (or Subscription) Distribution:

If you would like to distribute On This Day for Windows as a
Disk-of-the-Month, or as part of a subscription or monthly service,
then the following restrictions apply:
ASP Associate (Disk Vendor) Members in good standing are hereby given
permission to distribute On This Day for Windows under the
Disk-of-the-Month style of distribution.
Others (non-ASP Members) must contact us in advance to ensure that
you have the most current version of the software.
You cannot use a Disk-of-the-Month distribution to use up your
inventory of old (out of date) disks. Only current versions may
be shipped as Disk-of-the-Month disks.
On This Day for Windows cannot be "rented" or "leased" to others.
You may not list any of our products in advertisements, catalogs, or
other literature which describes our products as "FREE SOFTWARE".
Shareware is "Try-Before-You-Buy" software, it is not free.

The entire and exclusive liability and remedy for breach of
this Limited Warranty shall be limited to replacement of
defective diskette(s) or documentation and shall not
include or extend to any claim for or right to recover any
other damages, including but not limited to, loss of
profit, data, or use of the software, or special,
incidental, or consequential damages or other similar
