SCREEN-DO lets you design and create screens for use in
BASIC programs. Each screen that is saved to the disk can be accessed
through the BLOAD command in BASIC.
SCREEN-DO simplifies the process of editing screens through commands
that let you easily delete, insert, move, and copy certain
sections of the screen. Another function displays the ASCII characters
numbered 126 to 254 and let you display them on the screen. One
option lets you move the cursor across the screen to trace a
certain character you selected. SCREEN-DO has on-line help
that makes it easy to learn, in addition to simplifying the designing of
screens for use with BASIC programs.

SCREEN-DO enables you to design and create screens that can be used by BASIC
programs. Each screen that is saved to the disk is 3848 bytes long and can be
accessed through the BLOAD command in BASIC. SCREEN-DO simplifies the process of
editing screens through a number of commands. There are cursor, line, and
paragraph functions that allow the user to easily delete, insert, move, and copy
certain sections of the screen. Another function displays the ASCII characters
numbered 126 to 254 and lets the user display them on the screen. One option
allows the cursor to be moved across the screen to trace a certain character
selected by the user. SCREEN-DO has on-line help that makes it easy to learn,

Chapter Number One Introduction.
--------------------------------
A. What is SCREEN-DO?
----------------------
Ok, who really likes to write code for his/her screen
layouts? Nobody!, so this editor has been written to alleviate
that tedious process and give the programmer back the time that
would have been spent on coding screens.
This program will enable you to design and create screens
that can be used by your basic programs.
SCREEN-DO is not only for BASIC programmers. No matter
what language you are writing, you can use this system to draw
out your ideas and change them at will before writing the code.

Chapter Number One Introduction.
--------------------------------
B. Hardware Requirements
-------------------------
SCREEN-DO will run on an IBM-PC,XT,AT or 100% compatible
computer with at least one floppy disk drive, 128k of memory, and
either a color or monochrome display. . (We recommend a fixed
disk drive for mass storage and speed of file access.)
SCREEN-DO will run (performance wise) with little difference
between using a floppy drive or fixed disk, with the exception of
saving and retrieving screens which, from a floppy disk is SLOW.
So if you have the time then keep the floppy drive.
A color display is not required but adding color to your
screens will greatly enhance their appearance.

L. Using Screen Files.
-----------------------
Each screen you create and save is saved as a binary file
that is 3968 bytes in length. To use this file in your BASIC
application, you must load it into the appropriate screen buffer
(offset &hb800 for color, &hb000 for monochrome) using the BLOAD
"filename.ext",0 syntax.
If you are not familiar with bloading and bsaveing screen
files, venture into that seldom used BASIC reference MANUAL and
discover how much time you have wasted writing code for screen
layouts.

Chapter Number Three A Final Note.
----------------------------------
SCREEN-DO is a useful and interesting program. We have spent
many hours working up the concept and implementation of this
program and will continue to upgrade and improve its performance.
But alas, like any good Shareware product, there must be User
Support! By registering and becoming involved with this product
you yourself will add to the growth of SCREEN-DO.
We invite anybody reading this to drop us a line and tell us
what you like or dislike about SCREEN-DO. If Port-of-Call Software
uses your idea, and you are a registered user, we will provide you
with a current version of SCREEN-DO (if you are using an older one)
and the next upgrade at no charge (if applicable).
So please distribute this program freely and promote the
registration of this and ALL Shareware products so that
everybody can continue to enjoy top quality software at reasonable
prices.
This is a user supported product. It is not public domain
and not free software. Please use this product on a trial basis.
Then, if you wish to continue using or, if you need technical
support then you must register by sending in the appropriate
amount to the address shown below.
