Information about “DISK NAVIGATOR”

DISK NAVIGATOR takes over for the ordinary DOS prompt on your computer
and displays the files on your disk(s) in several display formats;
copy, move and erase files on an individual or group basis.

Individual files can be browsed or renamed. There is a submit facility
in which the commands and file names normally typed at the DOS prompt
are now typed and automatically passed on to DOS. The benefit -- no
misspellings!

Context-sensitive help screens and pop-up windows make DISK NAVIGATOR
easy to use. The program can show the files from a number of drives/
directories on the screen at the same time, giving your computer a
"super" disk directory. Scan one disk directory or the entire disk
directory structure.

DNAV is a directory shell with several powerful features:

    - SUBMIT facility eliminates the need to key in file and path names.

    - Macros to reduce keystrokes needed.

    - Graphic directory tree when you press 'J' (to jump to a directory)

    - Shows files from multiple drives/directories (intermixed, if you wish).

    - Context sensitive Help screens (press F1) and pop-up windows.

    - Scans only the directories of interest, reading the whole disk directory
      structure is optional.

    - Copys are safer, you are prompted before you overwrite files.

    - View function has find commands, the cursor pad is enabled.

Here is a sample screen format (seven are available):

lines (5:) to this line. Above it is set to call program 'LIST' for
   file 'BLP.TXT'.

The title line (3:) identifies the fields in the detail (5:) lines.

The directory lines (4: and 6:) identifies the owner of the files.

The detail line (5:) shows files and subdirectories. The amount of
information shown varies with the setting of the top line.

The prompt line (7:) indicates what functions are available at each
cursor position. Key in the first letter to call the function.

F1 gives context sensitive help, F10 quits to DOS. Use the cursor
keys to move around the screen. <PgUp> and <PgDn> move you thru the
   data in DNAV's tables.

DNAV is shareware. Upgrades will be prompt with YOUR support.
